Nifkin - believe it or not, I appreciate your feedback. I will also respond with the following to that;
My fee is based on my time in what I think it is worth to develop the script and support it. Of course, many scripts here do not contain a fee which is great. However with my wife, kids and full time job (not with Playon), adding a fee to my scripts is the only way I can explain my time investment into development (as believe me, my wife would rather I not spend my free time doing this!). Since March, I have spent enough hours developing, supporting and updating this script as there are changes made to the site that break the script time to time. I will go on a limb and say that if I offered this script for free, you would use the script at some point- which to me, makes the script worth its cost.
Your concerns;
1. "the movies are not sorted".
What device are you using for playon? I use an xbox 360 and the list actually sorts alpha for me automatically. It is the only device I have for testing which is why I never bothered coding that. I could add that in the future if there is enough interest in it.
2. "You can find all the same movies and more with the TVLinks script."
M2k does have movies that are not on tvlinks. You will mostly see this in the cinema section as those are the newest releases. Then once in a while, one site may go down or show broken links for a movie.. with the trifecta of these, you 'should' always have something to watch. 3. "how good are whole porn movies on Playon when you can't even fast forward through all the shit you don't wanna see?"
You know whats funny is that the entire reason I developed this script is because someone requested it specifically for the porn section. That was its initial purpose as you will see the thread in the adult section. Due to the feedback of the people who bought it, they wanted it for the non-porn titles which is what lead to this version of the script. btw you cant fast forward through any movies in playon (unless that portion has already been downloaded)- so it isnt really an issue for just the porn section
Hope that helps for all curious about my fee and its worth. As a user, you should also keep in mind that this script is equivalent to 3 redbox movies, 1 blockbuster rental, probably 1 day worth of cable, and maybe even 1 half of a movie ticket. Netflix would cost more (per month) and you would get less titles as well
1. The numbered folders are not always sorted in sequential order. It's a minor gripe but I'm just sayin. I am also using an xbox 360.
2. So far I haven't been able to find a movie on m2k that I haven't found on TVlinks. Not saying they don't exist, just saying I haven't found any yet.
3. Yes you're correct and the comment was not criticism towards the work you did. I was merely trying to make a point about how pointless it is.
Thanks for taking the time to respond in an adult manner unlike some of the other butthurt responses from other posters. Believe me when I say I respect your work and I could never do what you do. This is just constructive criticism. In the meantime I'll be using m2k as a backup and I don't regret paying you $3, I just think theres some room for improvement. Thanks.
