I am going to purchase another WD Player does anybody have the newer player or know how it compares to the wd live plus,or do you no where I can purchase new wd live plus besides amazon

The new one has a slicker interface, easier to use IMO.  It also has WiFi built in.  But I believe it lacks a component output, so you are stuck with composite and HDMI if I recall correctly.  I bought one for a friend and set it up for him, but it's been a while.

Thanks for your replies newegg had the old one for a good price did not have money then and now out of stock most places want  120.00 at least can get new one cheaper just not sure if its as good and dont want refurbished one if you know a good deal on old one let me know

I use a WD LIVETV PLUS and a WD LIVETV HUB. The new WD LIVETV STREAMING MEDIA PLAYER is pretty much the same as the Hub, no 1tb drive, added wifi.
I prefer the Hub because it can utilize THEMES. You can edit the themes as well as write your own. The WD SMP can use themes, but I think you have to modify the firmware. It uses the same firmware as the Hub.
